unlocking iphone 11 pro

Hi

I've signed new contract with EE - 3 months ago (iphone 11 pro) which has 2 sim cards, I've moved my EE sim to e-SIM with the intention to use my work sim card on the nano-sim slot.

the phone is currently locked and EE is refusing to unlock until month 6.

it seems unfair to me to buy a phone with 2 sim cards and not be able to use the second card due to the sim lock.

I spoke to EE as I am happy to pay deposit that they can hold for 6 months but that's also not possible.

I would appreciate if anyone can suggest workaround
