unlocking a iphone in New Zealand

Hi all,

Have been gifted a used Iphone 6s from an EE account (due to an upgrade). I have the phone in New Zealand and the previous owner (parent)  has applied for it to be unlocked via EE customer service.

I understand that it takes upto 72hrs or longer but I don't know what I need to do once it's apparently unlocked. I have no way of entering an unlocking code as such, as the device wont recognise my NZ sim!

Is this done remotely somehow??

any advice is appreciated

Kind regards

Hi @b17duf

Welcome to the community. 🙂

An email will be sent to the person that requested the unlock/the email address registered to the account.

That email will have instructions on what to do.

As @Chris_B informed, you won't need to enter an unlocking code. 🙂

@b17duf  Once who ever requested the unlock gets a notification that it’s done then all that is need is to put a different network SIM card in the device.    You don’t need to put any code in to the device.
