status of unlock on phone

status of unlock on phone *** it's my friends old contract phone he wants it's unlocking too give too me thanks in advance.

@sambarnes03: If the device had been on his contract for at least 6 months, even if that contract has now been cancelled, he should just apply using the Unlocking your device form as the Pay Monthly option and giving the mobile number that it originally came with. It will first show his current phone on that number, if any, & ask whether that is the device he wants to unlock? If not, he will then have to type in the IMEI of the old phone.
