Did you buy this device yourself new direct from EE or is it 2nd-hand? The process & costs are different.

If the device had been on your contract for at least 6 months, even if that contract has now been cancelled, you can just apply using the Unlocking your device form as the Pay Monthly option and giving the mobile number that it originally came with.
Where are you planning to take it? Some MBB routers are only designed to work in Europe.

Were you able to unlock it ? Asking because in the same predicament.
Also asking one of the EE moderators. If I'm happy to pay the £8.99 can I unlock it before my 30 days have elapsed ?
