I am trying to unlock my device but a SMS was sent to me telling the provided IMEI does not match the IMEI paired to my account. My phone is not second hand and I have had my EE account for more than 2 years. However, I have cancelled my contract with EE and is due to end on the 9th of September. Is my phone meant to be unlocked automatically by then and therefore the reason my request was not processed?

You need to call the unlocking team/CS on 150 and speak with them as there is no account access on these forums.
