Unlocking iphone in India

Hi

I tried unlocking my iphone before leaving the UK and travelling to India but did not receive the texts messages with the information needed before leaving the country.

How do I receive these messages/ unlock my phone now i am abroad?

Thanks

Re: Unlocking iphone in India

If the device had been on your contract for at least 6 months, even if that contract has now been cancelled, you can just apply using the Unlocking your device form and giving the mobile number that it originally came with. It will first show your current phone on that number, if any, & ask whether that is the device you want to unlock? If not, you will then have to type in the IMEI of the old phone.

Re: Unlocking iphone in India

@Pete1Mess  The  message said you should receive it within 72 hours not that it will be 72 hours as unlocking can take up to 10 days.

Just to inform you EE will not unlock a device until it is six months old starting from the time of purchase.

Hi and welcome to the community @Pete1Mess

We do have to allow up to 10 days for any unlocking request to be actioned.

If you still have not received any instructions via text or email please let us know and we can chase.

Many thanks,

Lee
