Unlocking from abroad

Hello EE support,

May I ask for your help? I've bought a second hand smartphone (Lumia 950XL) that is locked and I see that EE offers the opportunity to unlock it.

How I can do pay from abroad for unlocking? I don't have UK credit or debit card so may I do payment from Bulgaria via card, PayPal or bank transfer?

Re: Unlocking from abroad

@anngel  EE only except UK cards and do not offer payment via bank transfer or PayPal.

Re: Unlocking from abroad

Hello! I bought a second-hand iPhone that they bought in this company, and now it tells me that the sim is not valid (I'm in Spain) I would need to release the mobile, as would be possible?
Thank you

Re: Unlocking from abroad

@Teresahs  You need to call EE customer services to request a device unlock.  It will cost you £8,99 and it’s payable via a UK credit or debit card, and it takes up to 10 days to process.

This is your only way to get the device unlocked via EE.

Re: Unlocking from abroad

To unlock a 2nd-hand phone you need to call Customer Services on +44 800 956 6000 (option 2, option 4) to put you in touch with the Unlocking Team to request an Unlock Code. You will be asked for your email addy. They will take payment (of £8.99) from any valid UK bank card.

Once the process has been started you will receive an email from the Unlocking Team to process the unlock. It can take up to 10 days to complete the unlock.

But even so beware that EE could still refuse to unlock it. Many phones sold 2nd-hand have been reported lost or stolen, have been sold by the original owner when under 6 months old without EE's permission or have money owing on them.

If that is the case your only remedy is against whoever you got the phone from.
