Unlocking an old contract phone

Apologies if this has been posted before, but I couldn't find the answer I was looking for. I want to unlock my old contract phone for my son to use but when I tried to do it online the phone wasn't recognised. How can I unlock it?

Hi @FunkyBanana2009 (Love the username :))

Welcome to the community.

When you go through the online form, it will probably show you the current contract phone.

You should be given an option say that this isn't the device you want to unlock and it will ask you to enter the IMEI number of the device.

The IMEI number can be found by typing *#06# into the phone's keypad.

Let me know how you get on.
