Good Morning @markgal251
Thanks for coming to the community.
Depending on how you purchased the phone, use the links below to request your device to be unlocked;
If you have an iPhone that was purchased directly from EE on or after 1 September 2015 it will be unlocked automatically once the device reaches 18 months old.
This means you may not need to request your device to be unlocked if you purchased the Apple device on or after 1 September 2015.
You can now check the lock status of your EE device here or by texting UNLOCK to 150.
Let us know if you have any other questions.

You cannot use the online unlocking form or MyEE for 2nd-hand phones.
To unlock a 2nd-hand phone you need to call Customer Services on +44 800 956 6000 (option 2, option 4) to put you in touch with the Unlocking Team to request an Unlock Code. You will be asked for your email addy. They will take payment (of £8.99) from any valid UK bank card.
Once the process has been started you will receive an email from the Unlocking Team to process the unlock. It can take up to 10 days to complete the unlock.
But even so beware that EE could still refuse to unlock it. Many phones sold 2nd-hand have been reported lost or stolen, have been sold by the original owner when under 6 months old without EE's permission or have money owing on them.
If that is the case your only remedy is against whoever you got the phone from.

I originally post the transcript from a customer service representative but they where deleted has not allowed on the forum was stated that the phone in mention was already unlocked.
Upon putting a sim card in from another network this proved to be not so.

@markgal251 What network Sim card did you use if you used a three Sim card that’s your problem it’s best to use an O2 or a Vodafone Sim card once it’s unlocked you can then put a three Sim card in the device with out issue.
