Unlock My own iphone

Can this be right?

i bought an iPhone 6s outright for my wife from car phone warehouse and put her virgin sim in it, 3 weeks later it broke and it was replaced by an Apple store.  Fast forward to now and I bought her an 8+ and I now want to use the iPhone 6s  My 3 sim won’t register, Apple Can’t help other than say reinstall the o/s, virgin say they can’t do anything (twice)  So I’m left in limbo with a bricked phone.  So is it true EE may need to unlock it as virgin piggy back on their network? And to boot I need to pay 9quid to use my own phone? Cheers A

Re: Unlock My own iphone

If you read the small print on the CPW site and in store it says that iPhones purchased from them will lock to the first carrier sim inserted.

Only phones purchased from Apple direct are truly unlocked.

Re: Unlock My own iphone

@Arrumac  You have to ask virgin to unlock it not EE as the device is not locked on EE but to the virgin network,  how virgin give its customers a signal and how that signal is obtained is not relevant

Hi @Arrumac

Welcome to the community. 🙂

I see @Northerner and @Chris_B have advised you on this already.

It's best to contact Virgin so that they can request the unlock for you.
