Hi EE Community,
I have been attempting to unlock my HTC Desire since June, 2017 and have just been informed that my unlock request was denied because my account is not fully registered. I have logged into myEE without fail for over a year and was a PAYG customer with a debit card linked.
I have moved out of the UK and recieved no indication that my ulock request was denied until my third round of facebook messages with EE that lasted about 15 days of EE repeatedly telling me they would respond within 48 hours. Now, they are informing me that my only option is to call EE customer service. I am living abroad without access to international calling. But I do have something called the world wide web and am in disbelief that there is no other way to take care of this. I sent the 8.99GBP fee incurring international charges to do so to be able to take care of this request.
Can anyone assist?

Did you buy this device yourself new direct from EE or is it 2nd-hand? The process & costs are different.
If it is 2nd-hand, you can't just register a PAYG SIM you just bought for it in order to unlock it.
