Request to unlock my phone

I recently upgraded to a iPhone 8, I requested for my old iPhone 6s to be unlocked.  I received an email from EE that I would receive my unlocking code and instructions within 10 days.  10 days have passed and I haven’t heard anything from EE.

Have you checked to see if the phone has been unlocked with another network SIM?

Yes I have tried another sim from another provider but unfortunately the phone is still locked to EE
