Hello,
I am French (sorry for my English) and I bought on ebay a Nightawk M1 without knowing that it was locked to EE!
The seller does not want to take back the product.
I feel like I've been scammed!
Is it possible to unlock the M1 I bought, please?
This is what it says on the label:
IMEI: 3591260808042919194
EE Code: 300016991
Thank you !

To unlock a 2nd-hand device you need to call Customer Services on +44 800 956 6000 (option 2, option 4) to put you in touch with the Unlocking Team to request an Unlock Code. You will be asked for your email addy. They will take payment (of £8.99) from any valid UK bank card.
Once the process has been started you will receive an email from the Unlocking Team to process the unlock. It can take up to 10 days to complete the unlock.
But even so beware that EE could still refuse to unlock it. Many devices sold 2nd-hand have been reported lost or stolen, have been sold by the original owner when under 6 months old without EE's permission or have money owing on them.
If that is the case your only remedy is against whoever you got the device from.

Thank you !
But, I don't think my English level is going to allow me to make that call...
And of course I don't have a UK bank card (I live in France) !
Is there not an online form to complete my request?
Or maybe someone from this forum can make the call for me (to whom of course I will refund £8.99! Paypal, IBAN, ...?)?

The procedure I gave you is the only way for your situation.
The online form is only for devices bought directly from EE. No one here is going to do it on your behalf. This is a discussion board

Okay, I'm screwed! (
Maybe there is someone who speaks French at the number you gave me ?
And maybe I can use a Revolut card to pay?

Maybe the first but not the second. Why buy a locked device from a foreign country when you haven't discovered how to unlock it?

Because I thought I was buying a device equivalent to those sold in France... but cheaper! I didn't even know the concept of SIM locking by the provider for the Nightawk (this concept doesn't exist in France for this router!)
Revolut is not a UK bank?

@merlin2 I wouldn't try entering incorrect codes as you could permanently lock the device.

Quelques espoirs!

I found a way to bypass the unlock code by flashing the router with another firmware available on a Netgear site.
