Any handset purchased from EE as either a new customer plan or upgrade will always be locked to EE.

It can be unlocked earlier than 6 months but not by EE.

Hi @robdevil and welcome to the community.

Samsung will not be able to unlock the device, they will refer you to your network provider.

Please do see our guide on handset unlocking for all the information you need to unlock your device.

Many thanks,

Lee

ehhh.  Codes are sold by 3rd party unlock specialist and they got them from Samsung. EE has nothing to do with that. EE has codes from same database by the way. EE do not lock phones, Samsung does it for EE request so they can unlock them too.

Yes, we are all aware of that fairy tale but it gets back to my original Q.
