If you have purchased or been gifted a second hand phone or device that's locked to EE, unlocking it is quick and easy.
From 01 August 2017 any Apple device which was purchased directly from EE on or after 1 September 2015 will be unlocked automatically once the device reaches 18 months old.
This means you may not need to request your device to be unlocked if the Apple device was purchased on or after 1 September 2015.
You can now check the lock status of your EE Apple device via the online unlock request form or by texting UNLOCK to 150, using an EE SIM card.
It will cost £8.99 to unlock the device and you’ll need to call us on 0800 956 6000 to request this. Requests for unlocking second hand devices cannot be made via the online form.
You cannot unlock a device purchased or upgraded through a contract that is less than 6 months old.
The IMEI must not be blacklisted - if you discover that the device you have purchased has been blacklisted, your best course of action is to contact who or where you bought it from.
Devices that have been blacklisted have generally been reported as lost or stolen.

I bought a sealed s9 from a reseller in Algeria, it was working fine untill i found out that the imei was blacklisted so the phone is showing : phone not allowed for voice ,and the reseller doesnt want to help me , what can i do please i need to make phone calls since am out of country

@SalahEddineBC There is nothing that EE will do. The block/blacklist is in place because the device has been reported lost/stolen by the original owner who got the device from EE. Why purchase a phone from someone that’s from a network that does operate in your country. Your issue is with the seller of the device and you have to take this up with them.

Unfortunately if the IMEI is blacklisted it will require the seller to look into this.
@Chris_B I appreciate it was 3rd party the user bought from, I was simply asking if it was possibly from a site were this could be reported or help could be provided further.

There is no solution without going to the seller? Because i am out of Algeria so i cant contact him( i cant even pass calls), can you check for me what the reason of getting blacklisted? I checked on checkmend and it didnt show that it is stolen or lost
