ESim and phone unlocking

I have installed a ESim on my new IPhone XS Max, with the intention of putting the physical SIM card from my work phone in my device, however the work network is O2 and I can’t unlock my phone for the first 6 months, anyone any ideas to if this can be sorted, as the only reason I upgraded my phone to an XS was to enable this to happen.

Re: ESim and phone unlocking

Hi @SMB962

You will have to wait 6 months, or pay off your remaining contract term.

To contact EE Customer Services dial 150 From your EE mobile or 07953 966 250 from any other phone.

EE standard opening hours are 8am to 9pm weekday, 8am to 8pm on weekends.

Re: ESim and phone unlocking

Thanks, however this seems a little strange, I could understand if I was swapping out service provider, but I’m not, I am more than happy with EE they are great, just want to add my work sim to my shiny new phone to prevent carrying 2, it will make no difference at all to the volume of calls I make on my EE sim,

Hello @SMB962

Thanks for coming to the community.

I am sorry, to unlock a pay monthly phone you must have had the device on your contract for a minimum of 6 months.

Full information can be found on our How to unlock your EE pay monthly phone or device support post.
