Carrier Blocked iPad

Hi

I wonder if anybody could advise me on a Apple iPad I've purchased from a government auction site for Airport Unclaimed Items. I did, before purchasing check the IMEI on the Apple website to ensure that it wasn't 'Blacklisted' and paid for a report on the device.

Upon reciept of the device I found that the device is 'blocked' by a mobile carrier.

Is there anyway of getting this un-blocked, or is this effectively a paper-weight

Re: Carrier Blocked iPad

Hi @Frethan

It's a paperweight. In fact if it was replaced under the original owners insurance, then it's them who own it not you regardless of where your purchased it.

Thanks

Re: Carrier Blocked iPad

Good Morning @Frethan.

Welcome to the community.

If the device has been blocked by another carrier, you won't be able to use it i'm afraid.

As @Northerner has mentioned, the previous owner may of made an insurance claim, in effect blocking this iPad.
