Can I swap SIM cards into my phone from a different carrier

I just recently moved overseas and have a SIM card from a local carrier. What do I need to do (if anything) to unlock my iPhone so I can  use that on my plan?

It won't be using your EE plan if you're using a local SIM, altho' you're still be paying for it.

If the device had been on your contract for at least 6 months you can just apply using the Unlocking your device form as the Pay Monthly option and giving the mobile number that it originally came with.

Hi @DBrazil85

Welcome to the community. 🙂

I see @XRaySpeX has answered you perfectly here.

There is a checker on there that lets you know if the iPhone is already unlocked, before requesting.

Thanks for the reply. Where can I find this checker? After posting this I saw a previous post saying iPhones unlock themselves after 18 months. Do you know anything about this?

The checker is within the form I gave you. Yes, recent iPhones are auto unlocked after 18 months.
