Apparently I can't unlock my phone even though it says online that I can

It states online that I can unlock my device if I'm a small business, which I am, for £8-99  but yet still not letting me do this, when I work away I can't get signals so need to be able to swap sims due to work, EE ARE not being that helpful at all, already thinking of cancelling after a few days of poor customer service

Is the device less than 6 months old since you bought it from EE? You can't unlock even for a fee until it is older.

It states that I can if I'm a small business, If you’re on pay monthly, you need to have had the device you require to be unlocked for at least six months before you can have it unlocked, if you’re within contract, the cost to unlock your device is £8.99. This charge will be applied to your account once the unlock code has been provided and will show on your next bill.

It doesn't have that exclusion for business in How to unlock an EE device to use with another network which does cover business in other ways. Where do see it says otherwise?

 

Indeed, it specifically says you need to have had the device at least six months in this Small Business help page How to unlock your device .

@Jhaworth  You can not unlock any device that is a contact device until 6 months have passed starting from the purchase date.  You’ll not be the  exception as this is the rule as all contract devices are under the same rule.   The £8.99 fee is only   Applicable if you wish to unlock the device before the contract is up so you are changed for this service.  Once the contract is up it’s free to unlock the device.

@XRaySpeX is correct, you can't unlock the phone until it is over six months old.
