scam email

Hi received a text message this morning which reads as follows...EE:We were unable to process your latest bill. in order to avoid fees, update your billing information via: https:// ee-update.ref0116.com?ee-2....... This has got to be a scam as I checked my account and everything looks fine. The number it came from is +447742116985. Be wary of things like this I have blocked the number. Aln

Re: scam email

Yes, It's a scam! There are many of these going the rounds. EE would never send you a msg asking you to click on a link in order to update your a/c.

Report it to EE by forwarding it to 7726 (S.P.A.M. on your keypad).

That domain, faked to look like EE, was only created yesterday in Malaysia.

Re: scam email

I have received the same message from the same number and since my bill is not due was immediately suspicious, including the fact that it came in on a Saturday when banks are mostly inaccessible and people are stuck at home....as per normal it is never advisable to disclose financial information unless you have verified the source and contacted EE direct.
