Texting premium number

Hi

 

I have tried a few times to enter a premium ITV competition via text which costs £2 to enter. The text fails as if there is some kind of block. When I was with Three, it worked fine.

 

I have contacted customer services twice, and both times they have confirmed there are no restrictions on my account. There is a spend cap of £5 so there is no reason the text will not send.

 

They suggested I contact the recipient as it is likely to be their issue. I doubt this as it worked fine when I was with Three. Any ideas?

I just thought id post what fixed this for me.

 

I deleted the conversation on my iPhone and created a new one. The message then delivered.

 

I suspect this is related to the fact that I have a physical O2 sim (work), and an EE e-sim (personal) on my iPhone. Even though I have messaged this number from my personal number before, this was when I was on Three a few months ago.

I'd try taking the spend cap off briefly, and seeing if that helps.

I forgot to mention, I had the cap increased to £10 and the issue remains.

Hi Leanne, I am having the same problem. Perhaps you could post the solution publicly rather than messaging it privately? In my case it's not even premium rate, I just can't text any 5 digit numbers.

I don't have an iphone and I only have 1 sim (EE), but yes I tried deleting the conversation. I've also reset the network settings, removed the spending cap, turned data roaming off, rebooted the phone and been through an hour long chat with online support. No dice. Can't message any 5 digit number.

@Lorcan have you enabled call abroad and premium rate numbers from within your online account EE account?
