EE TV box record section stuck with message “opening hard drive please wait”
tried shut off at switch and restart but makes no difference
dont want to lose recordings

we have just been away and when we got back on Monday found recordings had stopped a few days earlier. The hard drive was frozen.
i switched off and restarted and the hard drive recovered.
However whilst watching recordings it kept freezing. Pausing and rewinding seemed to get over this issue.
yesterday the electric was switched off for a few hours and on restarting the EE TV the hard drive was frozen again with this message.
Tried switching off at mains and restarting but no joy.
also tried a reset in advanced settings, said it was rebooting but when that finished did nothing.
also the things like iPlayer and you tube are not accessing.
checked connection to WiFi and that seems ok
not yet contacted technical support but will do so

I would recommend giving us a call as it sounds like you've tried almost everything.

rang up and EE representative went through the system for me.
Unable to sort it out with a '5 button' reset.
So new box on its way to me.
very efficient and pleasant telephone process, just a shame I will lose my recordings
