I have an EE contract SIM card in a Nokia 6233 I have moved it to another Nokia 6233 recognises the SIM card but no signal is there something I’m not doing?

Hi @Simonpeter
Is your new device unlocked? Have you reset your new device?
If your SIM works in one phone but not the other then it's the device not the SIM which is the issue.
Thanks

Hi @Simonpeter
Are you able to try the SIM in the other phone?

Hi @Simonpeter,
I would get in touch with our tech team today and they will be able to check your sim card and account details.
If its easier, you can use our live chat service 🙂
Let us know how you get on once you have been in touch 🙂

Hi Alex
thank you for this spoke with Nancy, tech team, explained what was happening, then I also took out a T mobile sim which is in my partners mobile but it into the just obtained Nokia and this worked and I phoned out, let Nancy know who said that is because T mobile is 2G and for EE sim to work needs to be a mobile upto 4G capability still did not sort out the issue as both of my phones are the same make and model, I have re set the phone to factory settings still no joy I think I will pop down to the EE shop in town and ask so they can possibly explain to me.
Thanks
Simon
unless you have any other ideas?

Hi @Simonpeter
Thanks for coming back to us.
What network was the Nokia on before this was unlocked?
Was this T-Mobile?
Leanne.

Yes sold as unlocked, but I can see that you might be thinking it is still maybe locked to t mobile hence a t mobile SIM card works and my EE sim will not?
24-09-2018 08:11 AM
Hi @Simonpeter
Possibly, as your EE SIM works fine in your other phone.
If you do go into a EE store they will be able to test another EE SIM card to make sure this is not yours that is the problem.
If this is locked to T-Mobile you can ring us to request a second-hand unlock.
This would cost £8.99 to do this, or you could contact the seller.
Leanne.

Hi Leanne
Thank you for your help on this frustrating issue.
yes my plan is to go to the EE shop in Ipswich today to ask and check the sim, I have also sent a message to see who was the previous service provider but do not hold a lot of hope on this
Thanks once again and will leave this open so I can let you know the what occurs today

hi Leanne
Answer from the person who I got the phone from
Hi. I think it was orange which is now EE x
Did you you ask for any reason?
24-09-2018 10:03 AM
Thanks @Simonpeter
This would still need to be unlocked even if was Orange an EE SIM wouldn't work until this is completed.
Leanne.

Hi Leanne
ok I get this but if it was locked to Orange why would the T mobile SIM card work?
and also why do I get the EE and 3G plus signal display when I put my EE sim in?
Simon
One of these options may help you find the answers you need.
