Sim card not working

Hi guys, often happens that my sim card is not working at all. The phone says no sim card, cannot cal nor have data, obviously. It does it often, then sometimes work again and then stops. It is very unreliable. I went to a store around a month ago, asking to have a new sim, but they didn't want to replace it. Now I am starting to be very frustrated because the issue happens more and more often. What could I do? I think that the EE store nearby is closed, too. Please advise. Thanks

Re: Sim card not working

Hi @Ahmaat

Thanks for coming to the community

Have you tried cleaning your SIM with a lint-free cloth to remove any dust?

How often does this message show on your phone? does a restart fix this?

Speak soon 🙂

Leanne.

Re: Sim card not working

Hi Leanne,

Yes I cleaned it and nothing changed. Usually a restart of the phone make it work for a bit, but then the issue is there again. It happens now all the time, everyday.

Thanks

Re: Sim card not working

I had to factory reset my phone.  It did not work and would not recognise the sim card. Emergency calls only.  I ordered a new sim card. Same thing.  Nothing wrong with sim tried in numerous other phones and they recognised it.  Bought new phone, new sim still does not work?!  This is my business phone and I have the opportunity to start back at work but need my phone.  What do i do.  if i order another sim i have to waste another day waiting for it only for it not to work?

Re: Sim card not working

I have had the same problem three times as this person. A new sim card does not solve it and I have to spend hours on the phone. Your sim cards are faulty in design, it happens all the time.....

Re: Sim card not working

waiting for my new card...this is the third time in three months. I am
disabled and live alone so I bought a pay as you go sim to use while I
wait, from O2, it worked as soon as I put it in the phone.

Re: Sim card not working

Good Morning @Karma55

Are there any reported problems within your area?

You can check this by searching the Network Status Checker with your postcode.

Has your phone worked fine with a EE SIM before?

Speak soon,

Re: Sim card not working

Hello. last night I discovered what the problem is The plastic the sim is
made of is too flexible. When it is taken in or out of a phone, the plastic
flexes and the micro sim is very slightly displaced in the surrounding
plastic. Hence it makes poor contact and the phone says no sim. I have used
a tiny amount of tape on the top to hold it. It now works with both my
phones! I was on the phone for 2 hours talking to the technicians to try
and solve it with no result.
