SIM Card Deactivation



I have a Pay As You Go SIM card that I have not topped up since mid-July or the beginning of August of last year (2018). It is my understanding that my card is in hibernation, but not deactivated. Is this correct?


If I insert my SIM card in my phone, what number do I call to reactivate the card? How long does reactivation take?

You might just make it by phoning EE. EE PAYG SIMs are deactivated after 6 months of non-chargeable use. You then have a further 3 months to call EE to reactivate it before it is lost completely.

  @yale2020   You can not call from the card thats in hibernation as it needs activating to be able to use it.  You’ll need to use a different sim or a landline ( 0800 079 8586 )
