Pay as you go confirmation sms

I have two new EE pay as you go SIM's which were purchased for Kids Smart Watches, however EE's activation process for the SIM cards insists on sending an SMS to the device, yet the device can't receive a text if the cards not active. Has anyone else experienced anything similar to this with a Smart device with limited functionality; i.e. Not a phone or tablet.

Re: Pay as you go confirmation sms

PAYG SIMs are auto actativated as soon as they connect to EE's UK mobile network. No SMS needs to be sent to it in order to activate it. However if you want to create a MyEE a/c for them then it needs to send SMSs to the SIMs for verification. For that you would need put the SIMs in a device that does SMS, e.g. a mobile phone or a mobile BB router.
