New SIM card activation abroad

Hi guys I’m currently in France where by which I stupidly lost my iPhone 7 and sim!

ive now had the early upgrade come through with new SIM card but it doesn’t seem to pick up on signal Even selecting manually different carriers

Is this due to the fact I’m abroad?

Also this new iPhone 8 doesn’t appear on the EE online website but my old one does. Could this affect the compatability of the SIM card given to my new phone?

Re: New SIM card activation abroad

Hi and welcome to the community @Tompowell1

As @XRaySpeX has mentioned SIM cards can only be activated whilst in the UK due to network settings etc.

Many thanks,

Lee
