I live in the US. I'm visiting the UK in March and thinking of buying a Samsung Galaxy J3 2016 with a sim and EE pay-as you-go monthly plan (buying only a month at a time) that also gives me the ability to switch out the sim card for a US service provider when I'm back in the US. (I've researched AT&T as a possible US service provider.) If this is truly feasible, then I'd have a mobile set-up I can use when I go back and forth between the US and the UK. Your thoughts, anyone?

Hello @gloinature you need an unlocked device to use a UK and US SIM card in.
You can purchase the Samsung J3 from an EE store along with an EE SIM card and request the unlock through EE:
Or buy an unlocked device on its own then just get an EE SIM card. They are available in most UK airports and shops.
