Why isn't my phone working abroad?

Im currently in Spain and my phone won't let me send or receive text messages and iMessages even when connect to wifi and ring out or accept phone calls with data roaming both on and off. I've travelled to Europe with this phone twice before and never had any problems. Looked through the help on this site and the only suggestion is to text 150 which my phone won't allow or call up which my phone won't allow!!!

Did you activate roaming on your MyEE a/c before you left? Presumably not. Having a roaming allowance does not auto enable it. You may still be able to in your online a/c under Manage Devices. If not, you will need to call EE. Use the landline nos. in my sig.

Have you made any changes to your account since you last travelled abroad?


If you do a manual network search in settings - does it show any available networks?
