Using my phone in New Zealand

My daughter is in New Zealand and can’t use her phone. It is not letting her make calls or send texts yet these are supposed to be included in the Max Plan. What can she do?  I am the account holder/bill payer of the phone so she has not been able to sort this out herself.

Re: Using my phone in New Zealand

@Alison63: Did she activate roaming on her EE a/c before she left UK?

Try logging into your My EE account online for her no. & go to Menu / Manage Device / Roaming Abroad and also Call Abroad and Premium rate. They will show as ticked if roaming and calling abroad is activated. If they are not ticked, can you activate these settings?

Yes, thanks for that I’ve checked and Roaming Abroad is ticked and her data roaming is on.

What about Call Abroad? It's that that prevents calls & texts.

Re: Using my phone in New Zealand

That is blocked but I thought that was just for calling abroad from the Uk, not calling the Uk from abroad.

Re: Using my phone in New Zealand

No, you want that ticked. Another piece of EE's ambiguous terminology.

Ok thank you. I have allowed that - takes up to 24 hours to change so we’ll see tomorrow if that has solved the problem. Fingers xc.

Good Morning @Alison63

Thanks for coming here for help with your Daughters phone.

Can you let us know if this works for her and ask her to try restarting the phone as well?

No that is not working. Twice I have ticked allow Call Abroad and both times it has gone back to blocked.
