Using EE pay as you go phone in Canada

Hello. I am in Canada, I have a pay as you go contract on my EE phone even though I have wrongly been charged a direct debit fee this month. I have topped up but still can't use my phone though. Data roaming is switched on. Any ideas why this is happening? Extremely frustrating. I'm also unable to speak to anyone at EE because I can't make calls and there's no online chat function.

As it is not in EU you will not be able to use your usual pack allowances but will need to pay the charges as set out in https://ee.co.uk/help/add-ons-benefits-and-plans/call-or-going-abroad/roaming-costs/countries/canada . Do you have enough credit for that?

Hi there @lauraallsop

Thanks for coming here.

As @XRaySpeX has advised, you would need credit to make and receive calls and send texts in Canada.

Can you receive calls and texts?

Was the wrong amount taken by direct debit this month?

Hope to hear back from you soon 🙂

Leanne.
