I have just topped up my phone and need to make a text. However, both text and calls arent working due to the phone/sim being barred. I checked the phone settings and it says the barring is enabled. I tried to switch off but it is asking for a password. I tried using potential default passwords such as 0000, 1111, 1234, 6666; but none would work? I really need to make this text urgently to a family member who is in hospital. Can anyone help me please?

Hello @giles20 roaming is automatically enabled on PAYG sccounts. As long as you have credit you should be able to make and receive calls and texts.
Call barring pin (PIN2 code) is set to 1111 by default. This should not be enabled on PAYG accounts. Customer service can look in to this for you:

I tried that and it still says the barring is on.
I have also tried the SIM on another phone, and i still get the same problem. I also used a local SIM on both phones and they both worked fine. It seems that the barring is on the actual SIM itself.
Does it make a difference that this EE SIM that i have was originally a Pay Monthly SIM that was converted into a PAYO SIM a few months ago?

Is there a way I can contact them by chat? I am currently in the Philippines and have no other means to call customer service as my local SIM dont give me international calls. I have no access to a landline either.
Hope you can help as its quite urgent that I contact my family relative back home in the UK.
