Travel Data Plan not available

Hi,

I've searched but can't find my specific issue.

I'm in the USA on holiday and want to activate a Travel Data Pass, the text message when I arrived in the country says I need to text TRAVEL to 150, when I do this it tells me 'Sorry, Travel Data Pass is not available on your price plan'.... I've just moved to a 3gb sim only plan so I can't see why I can't activate. Any thoughts on what to try or what I've missed, the jet lag isn't helping!

Thank you for the page link @Christopher_G the text from 150 wasn't leading me to that page, instead ee.co.uk/roaming

 

Your link gives me options of 50mb/24hrs £5, 150mb/24hrs £10, 300mb/7days £25, 900mb/7days £50.

 

That's a great start but isn't quite the 500mb for £4.80 that the original text message offered via add-on.ee.co.uk/traveldata

 

Do you know if I'm able to get access to that deal?

Thanks Jon, I know this probably sounds daft but I can't start a live chat, I'm only offered the option to call or visit a store, neither of which works for me. Can you send me a link to a chat?

If you log into your My EE account from a PC/laptop, a pop-up box should come up offering a live chat, @Hawkimike.

 

Is that not happening for you?

@Christopher_G Thanks for coming back to me.

 

That's correct, it's not happening. I'm on my laptop, logged in to but no chat pop-up, I've disabled the pop-up blocker but still nothing, only the feedback link.

@Hawkimike  Login to our EE account and it should pop up when a agent is feee to chat.

Yes the chat box appeared the next day.

Apparently despite receiving messages about the TRAVEL option it's not available on my particular contract, but I was able to get online with 50mbs / £5 rather than the rather more generous 500mbs.

Available to all EE Pay Monthly consumer customers. Travel Data Pass is not currently available to customers on mobile broadband/Mobile Wi-Fi plans.
