Texting ROAMING to 150 does not produce the required answer. Why?

EE's website tells me to text ROAMING to 150 and I should get and answer yes or no to whether roaming is set up on my phone. This just does not happen, in fact the answer I receive seems to suggest that ROAMING is not even a a valid word . Does anybody know what is happening here please?

Are you on PAYG or contract? It's only for contract users. Roaming is auto enabled for PAYG.

Are you still in UK? You're meant to do that before you leave.

Hi,

If text doesn't work then call 150 and speak to CS.

Thanks

Hi @nunc

Welcome to community 🙂

I know you have been given some great advice so far, however I'm just checking in on this one to see if this has been resolved?

Are you abroad at the moment?

If so, I'd suggest a service chat with an EE advisor.

Access this option by selecting EE and a chat option will open up.

If you aren't abroad yet, then please have a look at our EE Roaming - Getting ready to use your phone abroad  post.

Let me know how you get on.

Thanks

Richard

Re: Texting ROAMING to 150 does not produce the required answer. Why?

Thanks for that.

I didn't realise that roaming was already enabled for PAYG.--Silly me

However, it seems to me that EE still have a problem in that they tell people to check their roaming status by texting ROAMING to 150 when that request word in not accepted. Such a simple error does not instil a great deal of confidence in the company. Would you agree?   Nunc

Hi @nunc

Thanks for getting back to me 🙂

Was their someone in particular that advised you to do this?

Is their an area where you saw you needed to do this on our website?

Thanks

Richard

Re: Texting ROAMING to 150 does not produce the required answer. Why?

It is in a number of places.
Try this page for instance----.shop.ee.co.uk/international/travelling-abroad
You will see BEFORE YOU GO To check if your phone's set up to use abroad
text ROAMING to 150 now.

BUT 150 does NOT accept roaming as a valid request word---all I get back is
a list of valid words.

I can certainly pass this on to the team.

I hope the roaming post I directed you to was helpful.
