It sounds like your SIM may have gone into hibernation @en3ity.
When was the last time you used your SIM to make a call or send a text, using your balance?

Hi @en3ity
Was the SIM activated on the UK EE network before you went abroad.
If not then the SIM will not work.
Thanks

Sounds like your PAYG SIM may have gone into hibernation due to non-use. If it has, topping-up now would be too late.
When did you previously make a chargeable action? EE PAYG SIMs are deactivated after 6 months of non-chargeable use. You then have a further 3 months period of grace to call EE to reactivate it before it is lost completely.
You needed to make a chargeable action like making a chargeable call or text, topping up or buying a Pack or Add-on, not just using your mins, texts or data from your pack.

Hey hello!
Thx for your reply @Rach_H .
Last time i used my sim on my ThinkPad T480 and through operator messages i was receiving everything like every code and stuff, when i turned on Data. But after that when i plugged it into a phone, it didnt work and i was not able to receiving any messages. Ive tried tuning off automatic and connecting to my local operators but that also didnt work.

No, you've lost it as you left it too long idle.
