No signal in Portugal

Hi, phone had signal for half an hour at the airport, I bought a £20 internet booster, ten minutes later no signal and that's still the case 5 hours later. Try connecting manually to Vodafone and it says SIM won't let me. Got good signal on my work blackberry. Ideas??

Do you have roaming activated on your account? 

 

If not you will need to ask EE CS to activate this service.

EE standard opening hours are 8am to 9pm weekday, 8am to 8pm on weekends.

Is it a pay monthly personal or a pay as you go EE SIM card you are using?
