No service abroad

I have recently upgraded my contract to a sim only deal which promised I could access my data/texts/calls within the EU.

 

I am now abroad (in a country included on this plan) and my phone has "No Service". I have attempted every troubleshoot I can find on the internet and I still have no service. I cannot even make calls or texts to EE to resolve this, or check if roaming is enabled on my account.

 

I am incredibly confused and disappointed, and this has severely compromised my safety on my trip. I really need this resolved as soon as possible. Thank you.

Does your online account say that roaming has been enabled?

 

It isn't always automatically enabled on accounts

Well, I can't access my online details.
I have tried to register an online account and it says:

"We don't recognise this number, please try again. If you're having trouble, call 150 from your EE phone"

The number is correct and I can't call EE.

Another q: I have no landline to call EE but is it possible they could FaceTime audio me to resolve the issue?

I am unsure if they would do that, but hopefully Karen will be a long soon as she is an EE agent and would be able to help and as she has posted recently in other threads she is also online.

Have you previously been able to use your SIM abroad?

 

If you try a manual search does it show any available networks?

 

Just a quick question...are you a personal EE customer?

 

If so I can send you a link to the Chat Team, they can check Roaming is active on your account.

Hi,
No This is my first time trying to use my sim abroad.
A manual search shows Vodofone NOS and MEO. I am in Portugal if that helps.
Yes I'm a personal customer.

Yes please send me the chat link. If roaming is not active, what do I do to activate it and can the chat team enable it for me?

If you try and select a network what happens?

 

Yes the Chat team will be able to help get Roaming activated.

If I select a network, nothing happens.
