NZ locals calling my phone in New Zealand

I know that with my Max plan I can use my phone for calls and data whilst I am in New Zealand.  What I want to know and cannot find is if New Zealand locals call my phone whilst I am there are they charged this as a local NZ call or do they get charged as if it was an international call (and might need international calls enabled on their phones)?

@ChrisJohn   It’ll be charged at their network rate for calling a none NZ number.

Or get them to use one of the many free ways to call like whatsapp, hangouts, duo, facetime, skype, etc.
