Messed up and now no way of contact for abroad set up (EU

Good morning everyone,

 

As menioned up there, I messed up. Since my old provider set up roaming automatically I did not check what needed to be done with EE and am now abroad, with no way of contacting anyone once I step out of the WiFi range from the place I am staying at.

 

I am staying within the EU, and the 4G+data roaming are active on my phone, but I'm guessing that because I did not text 150 before leaving it is the cause of the problem.

 

I cannot use my myEE account, because I never managed to get it set up (but that's for another part of the forum).

I cannot call or text anyone, including EE, and have no access to another phone.

 

If it helps, the account is in my name. It started in September this year, and it is a standard pay monthly.

Are you able to receive calls and texts?

 

Do you hear an error when you try and make a call?

Thank you for your answer! I cannot receive or make calls, and cannot text or receive texts either. My phone displays a 'No Service' at the top.

Hi @Jyphsi

 

Can you try and select a different network in the phone settings as below;

 

  • iPhone – Settings > Carrier > Toggle Automatic OFF

 

  • Android – Settings > More Networks > Mobile Networks > Network Operators > Tap OK

 

  • Windows – Settings > Mobile Network > Network Selection > Tap on start manual search

I have tried the Network selection and selected the few carriers available after untoggling automatic, without much result unfortunately.

 

Anything else you might be able to advise?

Thanks for trying this for me.

 

We would need to check your account as it does seem like roaming is not set up and we have no account access on the community to set this up for you.

 

To do this, you would need to call us from another phone on +44 (0) 7953 966 250 so we can help get you up and running.

Unfortunately I currently do not have access to another phone for another couple of hours, but friends of mine have mentioned contacting EE through twitter before, so I will give that a go.

Sorry, it sounded like an alright alternative

I don't, unfortunately I would have to call from a phone belonging to a family member (Non-UK) and refund the charges occuring to them afterwards
