@Embraer: Frankly, you were lied to by the store.


As he has an Essential Plan (which he must if it is not Max) & has bought 6 months of Go Further he may call from the US any standard landline or mobile nos. in US, Australia, Canada, Mexico, New Zealand, the EU or UK free of charge (within allowance).


I am just a user like you but I'm sure an EE staff member will come along tomorrow to confirm this.

I can confirm that @XRaySpeX is correct.


You can call USA to USA when roaming. You can also call from USA to UK (for example) within your allowances.


This goes for all 5 Max plan/Go Further countries.
