@JPEK Did you enable roaming on your account before you left the UK ? Roaming is not enabled by default and you have to have this enabled.

Have you tried logging into your online account and seeing if you can activate international calling and roaming? If you cannot then you will need to call EE from another device or speak to them via live chat.

This may be stating the obvious but just either get your current ee mobile unlocked, or buy a dual sim phone, and when you get to destination, buy a local simcard on pay as you go. I did this when I went to russia and on my last visit I got 7gb data, several hundred sms and minutes for less than £4 on the mtc network. Why mess about with roaming outside the eu? Its just too expensive.

@JPEK: Are you on contract or PAYG?

Yes, I'm a small business customer. I opened a ticket with your customer service and they've just replied that I cannot make calls to Bulgaria, eventhough I'm in the country and with activated roaming - because Bulgarian numbers have been barred for commercial reasons. They are closing the ticket with no further action.
When I signed up for the EE contract this summer it was advertised that it comes with free roaming, I'm on unlimited calls plan, in any EU country.

yes Leanne, I can call other numbers in Finland.
those barred numbers are not for sms messages - not mobile numbers.
they are different service numbers and nationwide area codes in Finland.
best regards, Jarmo

@JPEKdid you make a complaint with Ofcom? I've just submitted a complaint to EE's complaint form. I believe this is the first step.
