International roaming

Hi,

I'm in Thailand and I can't send texts out. I could do this when I was abroad last year so don't understand what has changed. I've never been able to call out and this is the same. I can receive both calls and texts.

I'm on payg as a personal account and have had to register on here as there is no other way to contact you

Thanks

Sophie

Re: International roaming

Hello there @Nemesis16.

Welcome to the community.

Pay as you go accounts are set up for international use and should have no problem.

Do you have credit on your account?

Can you manually try and connect to a network in the phone settings?

Thanks.

Re: International roaming

Hi,
I topped up before I left the UK and I've already tried to use an alternative network by manually connecting as well as returning to the main one.
I've also tried switching my phone off and on but nothing is working

Thanks

Re: International roaming

Thanks for confirming @Nemesis16.

Do you get an error when you try and text?

What phone are you using?

Thanks. Leanne 🙂

Re: International roaming

Hi

No error other than saying could not send message. It's a Sony Xperia m; I've tried to disable the barring but don't know what the pin is.
Thanks

Re: International roaming

Hi @Nemesis16

Thanks for coming back to @Leanne_T

She is having a day off today, so you have me for support 🙂

So this may be a long shot.....

Have you set up a PIN before?

If not......

Can you try key in the following for the barring password like 1111 or 0000 and tap OK.

Then tap the home icon to return to the home screen.

Let me know if this helps

Richard

Re: International roaming

Hi,

Sorry but I had already tried this and don't know what the pin is. I've entered everything obvious and just get a message stating unexpected result from network which is of no help to me
Thanks

Re: International roaming

Hi @Nemesis16

Thanks for getting back to me 🙂

I'd advise a quick call via a landline or an alternative mobile number into our technical team and they will need to look into this for you.

Thank you

Richard
