@Arch2  are you a contract or pay-as-you-go customer ?  if you a pay-as-you-go do you have credit to pay for your calls as your pack allowance doesn’t cover your calls. If you a contract customer login to your  online EE account and enable call abroad and premium rate numbers then restart the device.

I am a co tract and have roaming in the US

@Arch2   You still need to enable call abroad and premium rate numbers from within your online EE account.

I have done this and it’s still not working.

@Arch2   Once enabled it can take up to 24 hours before it filters through the system,  this is why you do this before you leave the UK.  Just to add try restarting the device.

Welcome to the community. 

 

If you've activated the international calling feature whilst already abroad, it may take a little longer than normal to activate, as @Chris_B said.

 

Try manually connecting to another network or restarting your phone in the mean time.

 

Device type Actions
iPhone Settings > Mobile Data > Network Selection > Turn off Automatic
Android Settings > More Networks > Mobile Networks > Network Operators > Tap OK
Windows Windows – Settings > Mobile Network > Network Selection > Tap on start manual search
