I desperately need to call home from the USA as we have a pending hurricane but says restricted even though was told set up and received a text when I loaded please can someone help!

It sounds like you have roaming enabled on your account but there's an international bar enabled which is preventing you from making calls from abroad.
If you sign into your MyEE Account on a computer (will not work on the MyEE App), a chat box should pop up and you will be able to speak to a customer service advisor who can remove the international bar for you.
Alternatively, you can chat to someone here. You can use this on either a computer or your mobile.

I understand your frustration with this.
Just before you try and contact customer services, please do try and perform a manual network search and select another network other than what you are
