How to use a UK mobile (PAYG) in Europe

I will stay in Denmark. Can anyone give me a step-by-step guidance for how I can make a call and receive a call from Danish mobiles/landline during my stay there?

I am using EE (PAYG), and this is my first time I use my mobile during staying abroad.

  1. Do I need to send "roaming" text to 150 before I go?
  2. What else do i need to do? (unlocking, activate/deactivate something, etc.)
  3. Do I need to add 45 to make a call to local numbers?
  4. Do persons who call me (from local mobile/landlie) need to add 44, skipping 0 (zero) before my phone number when both of us are in Denmark?

Your help would be apprecited.

Re: How to use a UK mobile (PAYG) in Europe

You make & receive calls/texts as normal, just remembering to use the correct International dialling codes if required.

  1. No. EE PAYG phones/SIMs are auto set up for roaming.
  2. Nowt. Unlocking is only required if you want to use a diff network's SIM in it.
  3. Yes. +45 to call Danish phones.
  4. Yes. +44 for non-UK phones to call you.
  5. No need for you to add +44 when calling UK phones, wherever they happen to be in the world.
