CLARIFICATION PLEASE RE USE OF INTERNATIONAL DIALLING CODES WHILE ROAMING
I am a newcomer to the community and a novice with mobile phones. My wife and I each have an EE PAYG mobile which we only use for Voice calls and Texts and we will be taking these abroad to Ireland where I assume we will be connected to a roaming network. While we are there we may call/text each other, call/text UK landlines or mobiles and call/text Ireland landlines or mobiles.
I understand that while in the UK I must prefix an Ireland number with +353 and drop the leading 0 of that number.
But when I am roaming in Ireland do I still need to use that prefix when calling/texting an Ireland number?
Similarly if we want to call/text each other when roaming in Ireland do we have to prefix our numbers with +44 or just call/ text as if we are in the UK?
And if we call/text a UK landline or mobile do we have to prefix the number with +44 or just call/text as if we are in the UK ?
Sorry to ask such a basic question but I can not find any guidance which specifically mentions this and I will be grateful for any advice from experienced users.
Solved! See the answer below or view the solution in context.

Hello and welcome.
Calling a UK number while roaming in Ireland will require the +44. Some phones will apply the +44 automatically to numbers in contacts eg Dial assist.
Calling an Irish number while roaming in Ireland won't need the local dialling code ie call as you would from an Irish mobile phone.
Please let us know if you have any other questions.

Thank you Peter_C for your advice.
I understand that we will need to use +44 when calling a UK number while roaming in Ireland. Am I correct in assuming that because our mobiles are UK numbers, then we will need to prefix our numbers with +44 if we want to call/text each other, even though we will both be in the roaming country? Thanks if you could clarify that for me please.

Thank you for posting today and welcome to the EE Community.
That's correct, while you are roaming in Ireland, you would need to use +44 or 0044 to contact each other. For example, 07953966250 would need to be dialed either +447953966250 or 00447953966250.
