@Rico1 Did you enable roaming on your account before you left the UK ? Have you tried restarting the device?

Thanks for coming here.
Just to add to @Chris_B's advice, if a restart doesn't work for you and roaming is not set up, you may be able to activate this in your My EE account.
To check this log into your My EE online
Then select Manage Device > Roaming and call abroad and premium rate.
They will both need to be set to allowed.
