I have a max plan with the EU + five countries
every time I ask how this works I get a different answer
can I only call within whichever country I am in ?
Last time one I was told I could only call
England from within England but once out of England I could call any place I liked
ie from France I would get u limited free call to America ?
This seems unlikely
some EE CS have said I can call any country
on the list ...
its a bit confusing and and if I get it wrong
it’s going to be expensive
any help appreciated

Simplest way to understand it is if you are in the UK you are not roaming, so your roaming entitlement doesn't apply.
If you go abroad say Spain then you are roaming, so then you can use your roaming entitlement, call the UK, Other countries etc.
Hope this helps.

When abroad you can make calls/texts within EU + 5 other countries to any mobile or landline in the EU, incl. UK, + 5 other countries. You are not restricted just to the country you are in.

Just to back that up, here is an excerpt from our price guide:-
This works the same for the extra 5 countries on the Max plans.
There is more information on page 2 of the EE pay monthly price guide.
Hope this clears that up for you.
