Data roaming frozen to off, but i am still getting charged. WHY?

Hi,

I am in Bali travelling and have already had to pay £50 for roaming charges (my fault i didnt turn it off).

I have since turned data roaming to off but have now seen i have a charge for £26 so far for roaming calls. Why are these calls being made when it is off? I went into data roaming to turn on and back off again, but now the data roaming thing wont swipe and is frozen.

I am travelling for another few months and do not want to keep being charged!

I have a Samsung 5A, can anyone help as this is stressing me out?

Thanks

Could it be that others are leaving you VM msgs? You will be paying for those even if you don't listen to them.

Try texting VM OFF to 150. Not sure it works from abroad.

Probably cuz you are roaming outside EU. You will need to phone EE to turn them off.

Thanks for coming back to us.

If you log into your My EE account online, a chat option will show when an agent is available.

Or, you can call us from abroad on +44 (0) 7953 966 250, see our roaming charges for calling costs.

Also you say the £26 is for calls. Me being patronising sorry you're not calling while abroad are you? Turning data roaming off will only stop data not calls or texts.

Re: Data roaming frozen to off, but i am still getting charged. WHY?

I have not used my phone one! My data roaming is off! The calls are for 00.01 of a second... multiples of this meaning that i am being charged £1.50 every time for a split second of a call I DID NOT MAKE.

This is getting beyond a joke and costing me £150!!!

Hi @Fuzz_Buzz,

I'm sorry to hear your call was disconnected.

Have you been able to get back in touch with customer services?

Thanks

Re: Data roaming frozen to off, but i am still getting charged. WHY?

Hi @Fuzz_Buzz,

Giving our customer service team a call is the best way to find out what the charges are for and get them stopped.

They have account access and can see exactly what is going on and make any changes for you.

Re: Data roaming frozen to off, but i am still getting charged. WHY?

I really cannot go through this again. Have you read the above comments? I am in Indonesia and was on hold for 40 minutes only to be cut off so calling is NOT AN OPTION.

I will be making a serious complaint on my return and expect a full refund of all money taken.

I need to speak to someone via email as this is beyond a joke now
