Cannot find data roaming add-on pack?

I have an EE SIM card. I live in the US and I'm traveling to Germany, so I need to buy a roaming add-on for data. I cannot find it in My EE.

I only see:

  • Euro Roaming add-on 100 mins
  • £5 Euro holiday add-on
  • £10 Euro holiday add-on

I don't understand. How am I suppose to use data in Germany? (There's no roaming options under Packs)

Re: Cannot find data roaming add-on pack?

That's right. You buy it when you get there just like when you travel there from the UK. As soon as you try using data there it'll offer to sell you some.

See http://explore.ee.co.uk/roaming/ee/germany and choose your data add-on.

Re: Cannot find data roaming add-on pack?

No luck, I went there and see what I want. But when I click the plus sign, it expands out to say "Can only be purchased while abroad".

Which isn't possible, because I won't have data in Germany... until I buy this ahead of time.

Re: Cannot find data roaming add-on pack?

@zenoxio: Yes, of course if you're on PAYG you need credit on your phone to buy any add-ons.

Do you have a PAYG SIM & are you resident in USA? If so, have you checked that your no. hasn't gone into hibernation?

Re: Cannot find data roaming add-on pack?

Not sure, under My Account on the website I still have an account # and mobile number. I don't see if I'm on PAYG or not, wasn't sure how to check on the website.

Re: Cannot find data roaming add-on pack?

If you are talking about topping-up, that's PAYG. If you are not on PAYG then you'd be paying EE a monthly fee. Are you?

When did you last use it to call, text, use data or top-up?

Re: Cannot find data roaming add-on pack?

Yeah PAYG then. How can I check if my number is in hibernation or not?

I used it last in November.

Re: Cannot find data roaming add-on pack?

I believe the hibernation time on EE PAYG is now 120 days so you should still be OK.

Re: Cannot find data roaming add-on pack?

You're OK! EE PAYG SIMs are not deactivated until they have been idle for 180 days. You are then given a further 90 days to contact EE to get it reactivated.
